AIIMS at Awantipora & Samba got Center’s approval

AIIMS at Awantipora & Samba got Center's approvalThe government today said it has received the Centre’s approval for establishing two All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), one each in Jammu and Kashmir divisions. The locations for establishing these two institutes have already been identified at Samba in Jammu and Awantipora in Kashmir.
Minister of State for Health and Medical Education Asiea Naqash said this in a written reply to the questions of Rajesh Gupta and Rajiv Jasrotia during Question Hour in the state Assembly here today. The minister said that the approval from the Government of India for establishing the two institutes had been given on May 20, 2016. She said an area of 231 acres had been identified at Samba and 222 acres at Awantipora for setting up the respective AIIMS’.
The minister said the projects would be executed by the Centre and necessary details in this regard were to be intimated by the state government to the Centre.
